Grampian Ladies in Business (GLIB) is a new concept for ladies who are involved in the business world within the Grampian Region. It has been formed with the intention of offering events and services where ‘The Ladies Do The Entertaining’. It is not a networking organization and members will not be asked to attend monthly meetings. Members will not be asked to deliver a presentation on their business roles unless of course they agree to become a sponsor of a specific event where it may be appropriate to do so.
GLIB will of course have networking opportunities but this will be on a social level or via the new website. It should be noted that many of the events offered will not be strictly ‘Ladies Only’ and it is not the intention to exclude men from the members business entertaining calendar.
The Launch Party was held on Thursday 2nd October at The Mercure Ardoe House Hotel and was attended by 250 very lively ‘Ladies In Business’. They all had a great time and were entertained by the fabulous FEEVA and their compere for the night Alison Craig. The feedback following the event was nothing short of fantastic and they are all looking forward to doing it all again very soon. The calendar of events for members will be announced very soon. The membership and the new password protected website will be launched on 1st January 09. From that date a programme of events will be included on our online calendar. Some examples of the type of events planned for 2009 are:
- Two corporate dinners per year held in the spring and the autumn with after dinner speakers, celebrities or business leaders to entertain you.
- Packaged coach trips to events such as Ladies Day at Perth Races, The Ideal Homes Exhibition, Xmas Shopping Expeditions etc etc.
We also plan to have indoor events such as themed lunches and dinners when members can book places from two and upwards. An indoor golf instruction event is planned for early in 2009 when members can meet at an informal, but hopefully helpful, event.
Monthly discounts and offers will be available via the website on an ongoing basis. The introductory offers presently on this site are open to any ladies who have joined or are intending to join GLIB.

- Members who are involved in hotels, restaurants or other event services can apply to advertise on the site as one of the featured businesses of the month
- FREE venue finding service for business seminars, functions or events of any kind
- FREE Corporate Hospitality package finding service
- Sponsorship opportunities may be available for a specific event or a page within the web site
- Apart from the monthly offers, members will also receive discounts on tables booked for all GLIB organized events, together with discounts on certain other events on offer during the year
- Your membership card can be used to claim discounts on other offers available to members.
The cost of membership will be £75.00 + VAT per year. If you attend one GLIB Dinner per year and take advantage of one of the monthly offers throughout the year your membership will have paid for itself !!
